Grandma Gaga

By JoAnn Abbott

May 2012

Oy vey, where’s my bra?

I am grandma Gaga

My teeth are in a jar

Do the old folks dance!

(repeat)

It’s getting ugly, this new skin disease

I’m catching everything please cover your sneeze

I’m getting old

Old, old, old

I’m getting old

Don’t need no drama, just give me a hand

I want a walker that can help me to stand

I’m getting old

Old, old, old

I’m getting old

Oh doctor I want you

And you know that I need you!

I need some new pills, so I can dance!

Got my inhaler and I’m wearing Depends

Heading down to the old folks dance

Oy oy oy oy

I reek of BenGay hope the small won’t offend

Heading down to the old folks dance

Oy vey, where’s my bra?

I am grandma Gaga

My teeth are in a jar

Do the old folks dance!

Make a Wish

Make A Wish

Every day, He would come

Put a nickel in the old machine

Just to hear, her soft voice

Whispering that he would get his dream

Every day, just the same

He would wish to find a friend

Every day, all alone

She would tell him once again-

Make a wish! You will find

Everything you’re wishing for

Adventures in exotic lands

Wealth and fame and even more

Make a wish! You will get

Everything you’re dreaming of

Happiness will come to you

And you will find your love

Then one day, for a change

Before the nickel went in the machine

He looked at her, and smiled and said

Today I wish that you could have your dream

So take my wish, it is yours

She looked at him, and smiled

And said, I wish to be with you

And stay forever at your side

Make a wish! You will find

Everything you’re wishing for

Adventures in exotic lands

Wealth and fame and even more

Make a wish! You will get

Everything you’re dreaming of

Happiness will come to you

And you will find your love

Why Do I Sing?

Written for my grandchildren, and inspired by my oldest who was frustrated when I kept singing instructions to him instead of yelling at him to get his coat. He asked "Grandma! Why do you have to SING all the time!!!"

Christian Songs

Children's Music

Children's Music

A song inspired by a single sentence- "I met a man" heard while listening to a Christian radio discussion.  Within 15 minutes I had the tune and most of the words down.   Sometimes, God gives me gifts like this :)
